The Society of Alabama Archivists (SALA) was founded in 1977. Membership is open to any person and/or institution interested in the field of Archives, Manuscripts, Special Libraries, or a related discipline. Currently, its many members include professionals from the state's archive, its municipalities, its counties, its colleges and universities, its military installations, and its many special topic archives and museums.
